Idol's Cook has potential on album

After winning FOX's American Idol's for his rocker style look and voice David Cook's self-titled debut (RCA Records) is out and here is the honest thing that I can say about it. I actually like the album.

Cook who along with Chris Cornell, Brian Howes and Cathy Dennis co-wrote nine songs from his debut Cook's voice has not lost its muster to have a growing potential of fans loving him (see, the Good Morning America performance?).

The first single "Light On" was co-written by one of rock music's most influential innovators, Chris Cornell, lead singer and songwriter for Soundgarden and Audioslave, and acclaimed producer/songwriter Brian Howes, who has worked with superstar rock bands such as Hinder and Puddle of Mudd.

But it was the track, "Time of My Life that gave Cook that edge and ultimate title of future star. However, I do beg to differ on the thing that seperate Cook from say, someone like, former Idol contestant Chris Daughtry, and that is the charisma that it takes for people to notice you for longer periods of time. What I mean it, Cook had that grunge look of a rocker, Daughtry was that rocker.

Rating: 4 out of 5
