Perry is 'One of the Boys' through debut

The hilarous ditigal song, "Ur So Gay" has made 23-year-old Katy Perry a sensation on the web (most notably by YouTube) and has gone as far as having a fan in the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna.

Now that song, and 11 other tracks are for fans to listen to from Perry's debut One of the Boys (Capitol Records). The songs are confessional and full of rock music; music like the personality of Alanis Morisette.

1. One Of The Boys 4:07
2. I Kissed A Girl 2:59
3. Waking Up In Vegas 3:19
4. Thinking Of You 4:06
5. Mannequin 3:17
6. Ur So Gay 3:37
7. Hot N Cold 3:40
8. If You Can Afford Me 3:18
9. Lost 4:16
10. Self Inflicted 3:25
11. I'm Still Breathing 3:48
12. Fingerprints

Within the songs, there are tunes about previous relationships, going to road trips. But rock songs are not the only thing there are also ballads. Perry is able to transcend from one song to the other.

She is able to make the audience feel what she is feeling that is that sense of abandonment yet, strike back with feminist girl power; for any guy that is something that one must be able to see.

She took a page out of Morissette's playbook, that being Morissette's Jagged Little Pill (Maverick Records) debut in 1995. And like both artist confessional songs sell. Perry's record has that feel, but with the album being as good as it is, it will not be a big seller as Morissette's.

Los Lonely Boys 'Forgiven' album

As much as Los Lonely Boys are famous for its music there has been a message throughout the albums they have released.

With its third album Forgiven (Sony Records) Los Lonely Boys album produced by Steve Jordan (John Mayer). Forgiven is the follow up to Sacred which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts in July 2006.
1. Heart Won't Tell A Lie (Album Version) 3:51
2. Forgiven (Album Version) 3:33
3. Staying With Me (Album Version) 4:01
4. Loving You Always (Album Version) 2:46
5. I'm A Man (Album Version) 4:04
6. Make It Better (Album Version) 3:26
7. Love Don't Care About Me (Album Version) 3:30
8. Cruel (Album Version) 3:44
9. You Can't See The Light (Album Version) 3:33
10. Superman (Album Version) 3:06
11. Another Broken Heart (Album Version) 3:04
12. The Way I Feel (Album Version)

The album's first single "Staying With Me" premiered on Cinco De Mayo. The rock band from San Angelo, Texas has had its music dubbed as Texican Rock n' Roll, combining elements of Rock'N'Roll, Blues, Soul, Country, and Tejano.

On a personal note, and just because I thought of this just now, this was one of Michele Cassiano favorite bands. She went to see them in concert once and just to be able to attend one of its concerts was enough for her to love them. I can't believe that I remember this, and sometimes I ask myself how I can remember something like this.

But it's true she thought that Los Lonely Boys music was awesome and she had a good time at the concert, she said. Howeveer, now that she is no longer on this earth, a lot of what I remember about her since she passed away on Jan. 24, 2007 is related to her or related to yoga in some way. I pretty sure she would have gotten this album.

Mötley Crüe become 'Saints of Los Angeles'

Mötley Crüe has returned with its latest album Saints of Los Angeles (Eleven Seven Music). The album was originally titled "The Dirt", but was changed.

The album will feature the band's original lineup (available through as an MP3 download. In more than a decade since its last original material the original members of the band have returned that being, Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee.

With the realms of the album Saints of Los Angeles brings back rock like it has never done before. The 13-track set and its lead single, "Saints of Los Angeles" only prove the worth of the band itself.

So come right in
Cuz everybody sins
Welcome to the scene of the crime
You want it, believe it, you got it if you need it
The devil is a friend of mine

Well if you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing
Just wait untill we're goin down in flames

We are, we are the saints
We signed our life away
Doesn't matter what you think
We're gonna do it anyway
We are, we are the saints
One day you will confess
And pray to the saints of Los Angeles

Sure all have run ins with the law and drug and alcohol problems (Tommy?) but if there is one thing that these guys can do, it's written and create and rock music.

Finally, to have them back hopefully it doesn't take another break and another 10 years.

My Morning Jackets has more 'Evil Urges'

My Morning Jacket's Evil Urges is its fifth studio album. It was released by ATO Records on June 10, 2008. Writing began in Colorado, while recording was done in Manhattan.

Singer and lead songwriter Jim James said that the band wanted to get away from "normal rock and roll sounds" and emulate more of the band's live sound

A number of the songs were previewed at the 2008 South by Southwest music festival. My Morning Jacket played "I'm Amazed" and "Evil Urges" on NBC's Saturday Night Live on May 10, 2008.

At the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in June 2008, the band played a near four hour set, playing all songs on the album except "Look At You" and "Remnants".

Back with what they do best...

B-52's have fun at the Funplex

At least the quartet as returned. Finally. The "LoveShack" hitmakers have returned to the music that made them famous. There is no short supply of magic here. No need. But there is something that I had to ask myself. What took so long?

1."Pump" – 4:53
2."Hot Corner" – 3:24
3."Ultraviolet" – 4:25
4."Juliet of the Spirits" – 4:22
5."Funplex" – 4:07
6."Eyes Wide Open" – 5:35
7."Love in the Year 3000" – 4:14
8."Deviant Ingredient" – 4:50
9."Too Much to Think About" – 3:47
10."Dancing Now" – 4:02
11."Keep This Party Going" – 4:31

The B-52's redefined the word, "fun" with the hit, "LoveShack" but having it come out for an album there is the album came as a result of the band's renewed touring, and a feeling that they needed something new to perform.

Guitarist Keith Strickland was inspired to create an updated sound for the band when listening to the New Order album Get Ready and hired producer Steve Osborne as a result. A more modern use of electronica production is the most distinct mark of the band's new sound.

Alanis feels and sings 'Incomplete' in song

Yet another song from Alanis Morrissette, this time it's "Incomplete" from Love In Entanglement (Warner Bros. Records) Wait, before you say anything, this is not the Backstreet Boys' "Incomplete." The Backstreet Boys version was about love lost and her, this about oneself.

One day I'll find relief
I'll be arrived and I'll be a friend to my friends who know how to be friends

One day I'll be at peace
I’ll be enlightened and I'll be married with children and maybe adopt

One day I will be healed
I will gather my wounds forge the end of tragic comedy

I have been running so sweaty my whole life
Urgent for a finish line
And I have been missing the rapture this whole time
Of being forever incomplete

One day, my mind will retreat, and I'll know god and I'll be constantly one with her night dusk and day
One day I'll be secure, like the women I see on their 30th anniversaries

I have been running so sweaty my whole life
Urgent for a finish line
And I have been missing the rapture this whole time
Of being forever incomplete

Ever unfolding
Ever expanding
Ever adventurous and torturous
But never done

One day, I will speak freely
I'll be less afraid
And measured outside of my poems and lyrics and art
One day I will be faith-filled
I'll be trusting and spacious authentic and grounded and whole

I have been running so sweaty my whole life
Urgent for a finish line
And I have been missing the rapture this whole time
Of being forever incomplete

I know, I know, I wasn't suppose to give all the lyrics, but these lyrics are true to anyone who is looking to find answers to why a relationship won't work.

Lil' Wayne's album needs work

How come I am not impressed with Lil' Wayne? There is something about him I can't put my finger on but there is nothing that tell me that he is a great singer. You have everyone looking to be a superstar.

I mean, just look at "American Idol", and soon and coming up, Nashville Star. That "Lollipop" song that is sung by Lil' Wayne is just well, the only song that is fine. Other then that, an album that need a lot of work.

I am NOT impressed.
