Morissette goes techno and 'Underneath'

After the success of her debut album Jagged Little Pill (Warner Bros./Maverick Records) in the mid-90s, Alanis Morissette has return and the lead single, "Underneath" from the upcoming album Flavors Of Entanglement (Warner Bros. Records) set for release on June 10, the first studio album in four years she is able to explain the personal side of her that continues to be the success that made her a household names.

With precise sound, (being her voice) she has time to explore what inspires her, (did you see the NBC Today Show for the last week?) she is unafraid, and exposed:

There is no difference
In what we're doing here
That doesn't show up as big as it does out there
So why spend all our time undressing our bandages
When we've the ultimate key to the cause
right here all underneath

Just for the lyrics itself, Morissette has never been afraid of telling it like it is. If you need a reminder, just go back and playback Jagged Little Pill. However, it is the fact that Morissette is able to take whatever inspires herself and turn it into a song. Another people that can do that is Madonna (of course), Eminem (of course) and every other songwriter in between.

It is a early indication of the album's that deals with and about sexuality, beauty, relationships and work and was partially inspired by young women who regularly come up to her and tell her their stories of personal pain. Reportly there were 25 songs written for this album...it's a good thing that "Underneath" is an upcoming single. Can't wait for the June 10 release.
