A game of 'Chess' on DVD

In listening to the Chess in Concert DVD starring Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal and Josh Groban, I have to say that the three of them make for some good music and acting no less. The concert recording that aired on PBS, Menzel and Pascal, co-stars of the wildly and insanely popular Jonathan Larson, RENT: The Musical are back together.

AND rightfully so. Who else (besides Madonna) can make for such beautiful looks at the music and the pipes to match. Menzel, also an actress, has her strong suit on with this musical. After all this is the same person who showed no fear in portraying Maureen Johnson. Yes, that same Johnson who showcased open and no fear of liberty, love and making a lesbian lovable.

All the same above to Pascal and Groban. The Russian never looked so good. Did I mention it aired on PBS?

Eminem returns with a 'Bottle' in hand

After five years away from making music, Eminem (a.k.a. Marshall Mathers) has returned with the lead single, "Crack the Bottle" from the upcoming album, "Relapse" (Slim Shady/Aftermath Records) The man is known to be real, and bitchy and airing out his laundry, but with this song, there is a different feel and very person. Featuring Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, it's had a similar feel as every single, an introduction:

Ooww Ladies and gentlemen
The moment you’ve all been waiting for ..
In this corner : weighing 175 pounds,
with a record of 17 rapes, 400 assaults, and 4 murders,
the undisputed, most diabolic villain in the world :
Slim Shady!

So crack a bottle, let your body waddle.
Don’t act like a snobby model.
You just hit the lotto.
Uh-oh Uh-oh, bitches hopping in my Tahoe .
Got one riding shotgun and no not one of them got gloves
Now wheres the rubbers? Whose got the rubbers?
Seems like there’s so many of them
and there’s really not that many of us.
Ladies love us, my posses kicking up dust.
Its on till the break of dawn and were starting this party from dusk.

But Slim Shady is not afraid to tell it like it is. Eminem greatest quality is able to able to get the attention of everyone. He and album producer Dr. Dre are out there. And there is something else; Eminem hides nothing. And when bitch is use, he is not afraid to use it.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that this is Eminem...so what's so different from 1999 to now?

Re-review of the 'Rent' soundtrack

In 1996, I didn't know that "Rent" was going to be as big has it was. And now as re-review of the soundtrack from the Jonathan Larson production. I absolutely love this soundtrack.

Take from Puccini's La Boheme, Larson creates a world of his own with this and it all starts with Mark Cohen. That man, Anthony Rapp, can sing. Now, where's that album and Adam Pascal, do more albums. Listen to this album, and believe me you will love it too.

And the other reason I'm doing this again, and letting you to listen to it again, and again, and 100 times over again...

I'M GOING TO THE PANTAGES THEATRE ON MARCH 1, TO SEE THE BROADWAY TOUR OF "RENT"!!!!!

Which I will write about on my Campus Correspondent blog...(Check back soon)...
